Installation Instructions:

Spray ’n Stick® is engineered to adhere any stone or ceramic wall tiles and mosaics up to 6” x 6” or 15cm x 15cm, to vertical surfaces on flat, primed and paint ready substrates.

The building, substrate or wall and the adhesive must be kept to a minimum of 15 oC or 59 oF. Substrate humidity should be kept under 4.5%. Spray ’n Stick®
best operational temperature ranges from 18 oC to 37 oC or 64 oF to 98 oF.

Ventilation:

  • Room where adhesive is to be applied must be completely enclosed from the elements. HVAC must be continuously operated for a minimum of 72 hours at a temperature no less than 68 oF (20 oC) prior to installation.

Temperature:

  • Wall tile must be stored at room temperature for at least 24 hours prior to use.
  • Spray ’n Stick must be transported and stored at a temperature range from 50 oF (10 oC) to 120 oF (49 oC). AVOID FREEZING TEMPERATURES.
  • Spray ’n Stick must be maintained at room temperature for a period of 36 hours prior to use. Failure to maintain the adhesive within this temperature range adversely affects spray pattern, decreases coverage and reduces performance.

Substrate Quality:

  • Approved substrate must be flat, dry, and free of oil, rust, loose paint, old adhesive residue, wax or any other substances whose presence would interfere with the bonding of the adhesive. Substrates and leveling compounds, which are naturally dusty, must be primed. A bond will form only once all dust is removed. Damp-wipe substrate to remove all dust.
  • Verify a clean, dry and structurally sound surface to accept adhesive, free of cracks, ridges, depressions, scales and foreign deposits of any kind.
  • Not recommended for use over unprimed joint compound. If applied to new substrate, allow joint compound to dry for 24 hours prior to application of adhesive
  • Not approved for use over cement board, cinder block or poured cement wall.

Adhesive Application:

  • Ensure adequate ventilation and mask area to be adhered with painters tape, paper/plastic sheeting and/or use a spray shield to protect from overspray.
  • Shake can well before use; ensure can is at room temperature.
  • Snap off blue safety tab from top of can. Hold can upright, approximately 18-24 inches or 46-61 cm from the substrate, aim and pull trigger.
  • Move can back and forth smoothly and evenly to achieve desired results; proper coverage should resemble a heavy frost. Avoid insufficient or excessive application of adhesive. Lightly re-spray missed areas.
  • In order to maintain consistent spray pattern, remove any build up of excess adhesive from spray tip. Once finished spraying, do not wipe spray tip. Leave a dried adhesive bubble, big enough to create a seal over the spray tip, until you are ready to use again.
  • Take care not to overspray onto walls, windows, etc. The use of a spray shield and masking is recommended when spraying against walls, cove base, or other flooring materials. Wipe overspray off with a damp cloth while still wet.
  • Allow adhesive to dry 10 to 20 minutes until there is no adhesive transfer when lightly touched with fingertips. Working time upon tack is 1 hour depending on humidity and temperature conditions.

spray-adhesive-steps-2.jpgTile installation:

  • Place or install the tiles as per manufacturer’s instructions on the adhesive surface.
  • Press tile firmly into adhesive; ensure the tile is properly aligned before you apply pressure to the tile. NOTE: Tile will have very little slip once placed into tacky adhesive. Complete bond by applying pressure on the tiles. Vertical complete bond forms after 2 hours.

Grout Same Day:

spray-adhesive-steps-2.jpgTile may be grouted 1 hour after installation.
Clean Up:
Wet adhesive can be removed with a wet rag. Dry adhesive can be removed with mineral spirits. To ensure the spray nozzle does not block between uses, leave spray residues on the nozzle. This forms a cap. Remove residue before the next use.

Recycle:

Bleed off excess pressure.

Recycle the aluminum can.

Warning:

  • Contents under pressure. Store between 50° F (10° C) to 120° F (49° C). AVOID FREEZING. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin, face or eyes. Do not ingest.
  • Skin: Remove adhesive from skin with warm soap and water.
  • Eye Contact: Flush eye with large quantities of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. If ingested, do not induce vomiting, give water to dilute, and seek medical attention immediately. DO NOT concentrate vapors and inhale fumes. Use only with proper ventilation.
  • Risk of explosion if the product is heated under confinement.
